Time Begins at the Edge - Big Bang (Blog 12B)

This blog continues the Blog 12 Series, which explores various facets of the cosmic flow — from the nature of the Big Bang to the ongoing unfolding of the universe through entropy, edge behavior, structure, and consciousness.

How Entropy Awakened the Arrow of Time

Time did not exist before the ripple. Not as flow. Not as change. Not even as possibility. In the sacred stillness, all was held in perfect balance. There was no before or after — only presence. But when the edge stirred, everything changed.

Shunyaya reveals that time is not a universal background. It is a result. It is born the moment entropy begins to flow. The instant variation arises — even the smallest shift — a direction appears. And with direction, time awakens.

Unlike traditional physics, which assumes time as a given, Shunyaya derives time from entropy itself. The formula reflects this directly:

Entropyᵤ = log[(Var(x₀:u) + 1)] × e^(–λu)

Weighted Variant:

Entropyᵤ = log[(Σ wi × Var(x₀:u)ᵢ + 1)] × e^(–λu)

Where:
  • Var(x₀:u)ᵢ is the symbolic variance from origin to universal symbolic time u, for component i
  • wᵢ are symbolic weights for different domains (e.g., physical, emotional, structural)
  • λ is the entropy decay constant
  • u is universal symbolic time
In words:
  • Entropy at time u equals the logarithm of symbolic variance from origin to u, plus one, multiplied by an exponential decay based on u.
  • In the weighted version, each variance term Var(x₀:u)ᵢ represents a distinct symbolic component (e.g., physical, emotional, structural), scaled by its domain-specific weight wi. The sum of these weighted variances forms the entropic core of the system. This means that time is not ticking independently. It is shaped by how variation accumulates. The more change within a system, the more pronounced its time flow. Where there is no difference, there is no passage. Time, in this view, is not linear — it is conditional.
At the cosmic origin, this was crucial. As entropy first rippled outward, the field responded. That response created the arrow of time. It was not set from outside. It emerged from within.

This insight helps resolve one of science’s deepest paradoxes: why time flows forward. The second law of thermodynamics has long been a clue — but never a cause. Shunyaya offers the cause: time flows forward because entropy increases from the edge.

It also implies that time may behave differently at different entropy zones. At sacred stillness, time is dormant. At the edge of turbulence, time sharpens. In symbolic mappings, this is observed clearly: time thickens or thins based on the flow field’s behavior.

Thus, time is not a container in which the universe unfolds. It is a shadow of entropy. And entropy itself is not disorder, but flow.

With this, Shunyaya reorients our understanding of time: not as a dimension, but as an echo. Not as ruler of change, but as its witness.
